The Gunners have been on the lookout for reinforcements in their lightweight central midfield and the report says talks have already been held with Tiote’s representatives.
Arsenal have been told that the Ivorian is wanting a three and a half year deal at the Emirates and wages of up to £80,000 per week.
Whilst Arsenal are wanting to complete the deal this January, the move could be difficult to work with the 28 year old currently involved in the African Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast.
Tiote took part in his national side’s opening game of the tournament; a 1-1 draw with Guinea.
The Gunners have been touted as potential suitors for other dominant central midfielders; Morgan Schneiderlin and Moussa Sissoko but Tiote is a new name to be added to mix although it is as yet unclear if Arsenal will be able to complete any proposed deal.
