The striker only moved to Anfield in the summer, but has struggled to make an impact since. The Daily Mail have even linked him with an early departure from the Merseyside club. The forward has only scored three goals in his twenty appearances for the side so far, although the most recent of those was in their last match against Aston Villa.

However, the 32-year-old is a Liverpool fan and will not leave the team voluntarily. He does understand that he may have the decision taken out of his hands though.

He said, “I’ve no intention of leaving Liverpool while they want me. If they don’t want me I’ll go but I’m here to help in whatever way I can.”

The England international will be hoping that his most recent goal can be the start of a good run of form. He has been lumped in alongside Dejan Lovren and Mario Balotelli as a summer transfer flop so far and will want to change that perception as soon as possible.
