Pippo Inzaghi’s San Siro side have struggled for goals and having opted to allow Fernando Torres to join Atletico Madrid the Italian giants are keen on nabbing Fabio Borini.
The 23 year old hasn’t been a success since leaving AS Roma for Merseyside in July 2012 though has impressed in recent fixtures, registering his first Premier League goal of the season during Liverpool’s win over Aston Villa on the weekend.
AC Milan would like to sign the player on a temporary basis but Liverpool are apparently only interested in an outright sale, though one imagines Brendan Rodgers would only consider such a sale if he had earmarked a replacement given just how short he is of options up front.
Summer signings Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert have both failed to impress and Rodgers has also been without Daniel Sturridge for most of the current campaign, leaving the club woefully short on the goals front this term.
