The Portuguese manager has hailed his win at the Liberty Stadium as perfect according to Goal.com and suggests his side has what it takes to secure success on multiple fronts.
Chelsea ripped Garry Monk’s defence to tatters, racing into a 4-0 lead at half-time, and subsequently laid down a marker for title rivals Man City ahead of their home game with Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
Oscar and Diego Costa scored a brace apiece and sub Andre Schurrle bagged a fifth as Chelsea thumped a Swansea City side facing life without their top marksman Wilfried Bony, who has left to join City.
“We were perfect. Everything went in our direction.
“The first half was very good. We were solid and recovered the ball in good positions. The decisions we made with the ball were good decisions. I’m happy with the points and quality of our football.
“The team still has to win cups in order to be remembered in 20 years. They are trying to the limit to make history.”
The win came after a run of average form that saw Chelsea win just one of their past three Premier League fixtures and will hold the west London side in good stead as they prepare for a massive encounter with Man City as they play host to the Etihad Stadium side on the 31st of January.
Chelsea face a succession of cup ties before that fixture with a two-legged Capital One Cup semi-final with Liverpool sandwiching the club’s FA Cup fourth round clash with Bradford City.
