Reports in the Daily Mirror claim that Schurrle was recently subject to a £23m offer from Wolfsburg, while Blues boss Jose Mourinho is happy to cash in on a player that has failed to meet expectations so far this season.
However, Schurrle has rejected the move, and now looks likely to remain in London until the end of the season. With Mo Salah also potentially up for grabs, Mourinho will seek to keep hold of the German as a back-up option for the remainder of the campaign.
Even though Dortmund have struggled this season, it appears Schurrle favours a move to join the 2013 Champions League finalists, where he would most likely act as a replacement for Marco Reus, who is expected to leave at the end of the current season.
