Aston Villa have emerged as surprise contenders to sign highly-rated Manchester United youngster Adnan Januzaj on loan this January, according to the Sun.

Paul Lambert’s side are struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League table at the moment and want to bring in the Belgian winger to provide some spark to their attacking options.
Januzaj is one of the most highly rated prospects in European football at the moment, but has found playing time rather more limited this season since Louis van Gaal took over at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman has brought in big-name signings such as Angel Di Maria that have taken up room in the starting lineup, leaving Januzaj dropped to the bench after his superb breakthrough year under David Moyes last season.
It has been suggested that the 19-year-old could leave United on loan this winter, and Villa now hope they have a chance of winning the race for this promising attacking midfielder.
