Manchester United look as though they could miss out on signing long time target Wesley Sneijder after he agreed to join Juventus this week, according to the Daily Express.

The former Real Madrid star has been tipped to leave Galatasaray this month, with former boss Louis Van Gaal believed to be the frontrunner to land his signature over the coming weeks.

But he has since been reported to be edging close to signing for Serie A leaders Juventus instead.

However, the price has proved to be a sticking point, with Galatasaray hoping to earn closer to £8m for his signature, whilst Juve have offered on £6m.

That means there is still time for United to swoop in and beat the Italians to him, especially after Van Gaal made a new midfielder one of his top priorities this month.
