The 16-year-old has been drawing plenty of plaudits in France and has played for Under-16s side on six occasions and the Reds are looking to land the teenager on a three-year deal.

The Merseysiders have some good news in their pursuit of Souici as well because the midfield ace has rejected an offer from AS Monaco because he would prefer to move to the Premier League.

As the Metro reports the starlet models himself on fellow Frenchman Paul Pogba of Juventus and Brendan Rodgers will be hoping he proves to be as successful as the 21-year-old should he sign him.

Rodgers has previously signed Divock Origi from Ligue 1 side Lille and is looking to look for more talented young players from the French top tier in the shape of Souici.

How much the St Etienne star will set him back though is currently unknown.
