Premier League giants looking to sign Everton right back Seamus Coleman.

Manchester United are set to enter the race for Everton’s £25 million rated right back Seamus Coleman, report the Daily Star, with the Red Devils ready to enter a transfer battle with current Premier League leaders Chelsea for the signing of the Irish international, who has proven himself as one of the league’s finest defensive players over the last couple of seasons.

Coleman is not a surprising target for United, with the former Sligo Rovers right back, who famously cost Everton a pittance when signed from the Irish Premier League, tailor made for the right wing back role that is currently occupied by converted winger Antonio Valencia in Louis van Gaal’s three-at-the-back system.

Everton are well aware of the quality that is possessed by their right back, however, and with Coleman having signed a new long term contract with the Toffees recently, they are likely to demand a huge fee if they are to part right the player, suggested to be in the region of £25m.

With Coleman having proven his ability as a Premier League player and still with his best years ahead of him, however, there is every chance that one of United or Chelsea will find that a palatable demand, particularly considering the Red Devils’ lack of depth and quality at the back.
