Now the 2014 World Cup winner has spoken out about that decision and has revealed that he is glad that he chose Los Blancos over the Red Devils.

“I chose Real Madrid and now I’m so happy. I was right to sign for Madrid,” Kroos was quoted by the Daily Express.

“Before coming here, I didn’t know what to expect, but I made the decision. I was looking for something new and I was lucky that I signed for Real Madrid.”

It has been a year of success for Kroos in 2014 as after completing the double of Bundesliga and German Cup with Bayern in 2013/14, he then won the World Cup with Germany and completed his transfer to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

The 24-year-old has quickly established himself in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting XI in the Spanish capital and has already won his first piece of silverware with Madrid in the shape of the Club World Cup.

United meanwhile moved their attention elsewhere over the summer and spent a record amount on new talent, with the likes of Angel di Maria, Radamel Falcao, Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw all arriving at Old Trafford.
