De Gea has been in the form of his life and strongly linked with Real Madrid.
Manchester United could be set for a huge boost with the news that in form goalkeeper David de Gea has rejected the overtures of European champions Real Madrid in favour of penning a long term, big money new contract at Manchester United according to reports from the Express.

The Spaniard has been one of the Premier League’s most impressive performers so far this season, with his individual display in the 3-0 win over Liverpool last weekend being perhaps his best yet, so it should come as no surprise that Real Madrid have looked to target de Gea as the long term replacement for their legendary goalkeeper Iker Casillas.
Casillas has not rebuilt his performances to an acceptable level since his disastrous performance with Spain at the 2014 World Cup, although he is continuing to keep impressive Costa Rican international Keylor Navas out of the first team at the Bernabeu, but it is clear that there is room for a long term ‘keeper at the club.
It would appear that de Gea won’t be that man, however, with United seeming set to secure the long term future of the former Atletico Madrid star, potentially making the Spanish international the highest paid goalkeeper in the world.
