Chelsea Prepare Bumper New Deal For Jose Mourinho To Fend Off Potential Interest From Barcelona
AS Roma are considering a January transfer move for Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech according to reports by Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Czech Republic No.1 has cut a frustrated figure on the sidelines this season after being moved down the pecking order following the return of Thibaut Courtois from a three year loan at Atletico Madrid.
Roma’s current goalkeeper is 37 year old Morgan De Sanctis, but his current deal is thought to expire at the end of this season. The Giallorossi are said to be looking for an experienced, world class replacement and Cech would fit that bill.
Cech has played just five appearances this season and just one of those was in the Premier League when he came on as a substitute.
However, Jose Mourinho has dismissed talk of the 32 year old leaving West London in an interview with Sky Sports.
“Petr has a contract for two more years, he’s a fantastic professional. Not once has he knocked on my door to inform me about his desire to accept some proposal,” he said.
