The 27-year-old joined Chelsea in August after Liverpool pulled the plug on a deal to sign him from QPR over a reported failed medical.

However, he has so far failed to nail down a regular first team spot in west London thanks to the scintillating form of fellow new recruits Diego Costa and Didier Drogba.

But despite that, Remy has reiterated his delight at being with the club, and is not regretting the missed opportunity to link up with the Reds.

“Everything happens for a reason so I am very happy to be here,” he said.

“The past is the past so now I forget it and I am just concentrated on my team and, yes, winning the title with my team.

“For me the past is the past. We are just looking forward.”
