The big-spending Ligue 1 giants have signed some of the biggest names in world football in recent years, with the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani and Thiago Silva all making their way to the Parc des Princes under the ownership of their wealthy Qatari investors.
Barcelona’s Lionel Messi is another player to have been on PSG’s radar in recent years, and while the French side have failed in their efforts to lure the Argentine to the club, they may now have a chance with his team-mate Neymar.
The 22-year-old only moved to the Nou Camp last season, finally making the step up from his old club Santos to embark upon a career in Europe, having lit up the Brazilian top flight for many years since breaking onto the scene as a teenager.
Still, Neymar has not always found it easy to reach top form with Barca, and PSG may try their luck with a bid for him in the near future, with their own player Marquinhos admitting he thinks the player could be persuaded to join the strong Brazilian contingent at the club.
“Neymar PSG? Anything is possible if the club wants,” he said. “Certainly, the large group of Brazilians in PSG could be persuasive.”
