Wenger accused his players of being complacent but also opted to stated that tiredness was also a factor, stating;
“At 3-0 we thought the job was done,” admitted Wenger.
“It was fatigue as well. They finished stronger and sharper. In the Champions League you need to be at the right mental level or you get punished.
“Certainly we were not. Am I angry or disappointed? Both. Only two or three players were at their level.”
Arsenal appeared in control having seen Mikel Arteta, Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain help the home side to a 3-0 lead after an hour but mistakes at the back let Belgian side Anderlecht back into the game.
Anthony Vanden Borre netted twice before youngster Aleksandar Mitrovic leveled the tie in the dying moments.
Arsenal are still in a good position to qualify from their group needing just a point from their final two games to guarantee progress to the knockout stages.
