The MLS has long faced accusations of forcing journalists to tow the line.
A bit of research on Google will show you lots of stories about journalists being stopped from reporting negative information about the league – there are numerous examples of them losing their access to players, clubs and officials if they do.

Last night marked the start of the MLS playoffs, and in a show of disgusting complicity with the league, at least three supposedly respected journalists all sent exactly the same tweet. There were reportedly several more instances.
