The 20 year old was a surprise memeber of van Gaal’s Dutch national team squad for the 2014 World CUp finals and is a player with great potential and will be the subject of a January bid from the Premier League side.
Man United will look to bring in the £3m rated starlet in January though will happily loan him back to Feyenoord for the remainder of the current campaign, a deal that may tempt the Eredivisie side.
Van Gaal’s defence has been decidedly shaky this term with Phil Jones suffering with injury concerns, Jonny Evans lurching from one poor display to the next which has led to youngsters Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair being thrown in at the deep end at times, with varying degrees of success.
Terence Kongolo is already into his fourth season in the Feyenoord first team set-up and is clearly a player van Gaal rates highly and one imagines he’d be keen to team up with national team colleagues Daley Blind and Robin Van Persie at Man United.
