Anfield defender still recovering from thigh injury…
Liverpool have revealed that centre-back Mamadou Sakho is expected to miss another few weeks with a thigh injury.

The Frenchman was injured during training and hasn’t featured since the Capital One Cup tie against Middlesbrough in September.
“He’s progressing well,” said assistant manager Colin Pascoe. “He was unfortunate – he came back in and picked up a similar injury.
“It will be another couple of weeks for Mamadou and then hopefully he’ll be back. As soon as he’s fit and raring to go, he’s available.”
The Merseyside club have been somewhat erratic so far this season, with a number of disappointing results throughout the campaign. They played out a scoreless draw against Hull City on the weekend, with misfiring summer signing Mario Balotelli still failing to impress.
They are unlikely to find it any easier in their next match, Brendan Rodgers’ side hosting in form Swansea City at Anfield on Tuesday in the next round of the Capital One Cup.
Having been heavily linked to Swansea’s Wilfried Bony recently it’s highly possible that failing to sign the Ivorian this summer could come back to haunt the Reds in more ways than one.
