Orlando City Announce Winter Friendly With Euro Giants

One of the new MLS side’s first games will be against German giants Bayer Leverkusen.

Orlando City will begin life as an MLS side in the 2015 season, but before then they are planning some ties against major European clubs.

They have announced they will organised a four-team tournament this coming winter, with Bayer Leverkusen the first confirmed side to be participating.

It is unlikely that any English sides will take part – unlike the Bundesliga, the Premier League does not take a winter break. It is expected the remaining two sides will derive from Brazil and Canada. Either Cruzeiro or Santos are believed to be the Brazilian side.

Brazil legend Kaka has agreed to play for Orlando in their debut season, but that was cast into doubt yesterday following his comments to the Brazilian media
