Gunners hoping to seal deal for Marcelo Brozovic.
Arsenal have opened talks with representatives of Croatian playmaker Marcelo Brozovic, report the Mail, with the Gunners keen to tie up a £6.4 million deal with Dinamo Zagreb in an attempt to fend off competition from Serie A giants Inter Milan for one of the most exciting young midfielders in European football right now.

Inter are reported to have offered the Croatian champions £3.4m for their most prized asset – but this falls well below the club’s valuation of Brozovic and could well hand the Gunners the upper hand, as long as they are willing to almost double that price for the young midfielder.
Very much in the mould of Luka Modric, Brozovic has become a key player for Dinamo over the last couple of seasons and is now an important part of Niko Kovac’s Croatian national side – but Arsenal fans may well question whether a young playmaker is really the place that the club need to be splashing their January cash, considering the defensive issues Arsenal currently face.
Despite this, however, Arsenal have opened preliminary talks with the player’s representatives over a move and are set to reconvene in the coming weeks to look to finalise a deal, potentially making the Croatian their first signing of the January transfer window.
