Milan join the race to sign Khedira, who yesterday returned to training following a thigh injury.
Silvio Berlusconi has flown to AC Milan’s Milanello training ground to encourage his club ahead of their game against Hellas Verona on Saturday and push forward the plot to sign Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira.
According to TMW, the media magnate will also use the opportunity to discuss his club’s January strategy with manager Filippo Inzaghi, with a move for Khedira apparently being plotted.
This will throw the plans of Chelsea and Arsenal, both of whom are rumoured to be amongst the host of clubs planning to bid for the Madrid midfielder in the New Year, into disarray.

The English clubs will hope that their superior financial situation will mean that they can offer a far bigger deal to the German midfielder, who is out of contract in the summer.
However, Milan’s transfer policy seems to be entirely based around free transfers and cheap deals, so they won’t let a target with as much value as Khedira get away easily.
The Gunners should be favourites to sign the 27-year-old as they have the most need in his position, the money to sign him and can offer him the most playing time.
Whether Arsene Wenger will let himself get drawn into the growing bidding war for the Madrid man’s services remains to be seen though.
