Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed the rumours that Victor Valdes turned down a trial with Premier League giants Liverpool is totally false.
Liverpool never asked for a trial by Victor #Valdes. Just talked about his wage and there’s not agreement, at the moment. #LFC

Reports last week claimed that the Reds had offered the legendary Spanish keeper a four day trial to prove his fitness, which Valdes then rejected.
However, It appears that Liverpool have yet to offer Valdes a trial, but have in fact discussed his wage demands ahead of a possible deal.
Valdes is available on a free transfer, having run down his contract with Barcelona last season. He’s currently injured though, so no club has signed the unattached goalkeeper.
Valdes’s pedigree is undeniable though, with three Champions League titles and a number of La Liga championships under his belt.
The Reds are looking to sign a new stopper to compete with Belgian Simon Mignolet for the no.1 jersey, following the former Sunderland man’s poor start to the season.
