Wenger had attempted to sign the 28 year old prior to his move from Newcastle United to the French capital in January but the Ligue 1 side snapped up the cultured midfielder in a £19m deal.
Cabaye has started four of PSG’s nine Ligue 1 fixtures this season, and was subbed on three of those occasions, and is now strongly linked with a Parc des Princes exit.
Arsenal are ready to pay £20m for the PSG man with Arsene Wenger seeing the player as an ideal long term replacement for veteran captain Mikel Arteta and such a move would then bring an end to his interest in Real Madrid star Sami Khedira.
Newcastle United signed Cabaye from Lille in June 2011 and he more than proved himself at Premier League level, scoring 18 goals in 93 appearances for the St James’ Park side, and is a player Arsene Wenger will hope can add a fresh dimension to his Gunners midfield.
Cabaye’s continued struggle to retain a foothold in the PSG starting eleven has left him fearful that a lack of action could affect his standing in Didier Deschamps’ national team set-up and as such may jump at the chance of a move in January.
