Chelsea secured three crucial points as they moved to the tip of Group G. It was a case of rivalries renewed as former Benfica man Nemanja Matic got the goal, celebrated by former Porto manager Jose Mourinho.

Matic gave Chelsea the lead after a frustrating opening half hour. Following the 1-1 draw with Schalke, the Blues will have been delighted to find the net as they looked for their first win of this season’s Champions League. Eden Hazard was fouled mid-way inside the Lisbon half, Cesc Fabregas whipped in the resulting free-kick, and Matic slammed the header home. See it here:
