The former England international left Chelsea for Roma during the summer after his contract with the Blues ran out but reports suggest that he is already unhappy at the Italian club and could return to England in January.
Speaking before the Giallorossi’s Champions League tie with Manchester City, Cole moved to quash the rumours that he is looking to exit the Stadio Olimpico and insists he is relishing life under coach Rudi Garcia.
“I love to play in Italy and I love Italy, the players are technically different because we play with pace and our coach [Garcia] is very good,” he told reporters.
”He encourages us to play well and I like that a lot. I like the Premier League but also where I am.
”The decision to leave [Chelsea] was not wrong. Those eight years for me were important, but now I am a Roma player.
”I could play better than I am currently, of course, if I get the chance to play more games.”
The defender also admits that he is looking forward to lining up against former Blues team mate Frank Lampard, who could start for City in Tuesday’s clash.
”It will be nice to see [Joe] Hart and Lampard. I didn’t expect to play against him and it will be nice if we are both in the starting line-up.”
