The Manchester United legend accused Toure of being too lazy defensively, and leaving far too much work for his teammate Fernandinho.
Seluk responded on his client’s behalf by telling Scholes to mind his own business and concentrate on his own team’s current woes.
“Scholes was a very good player and is a legend for United. But given now the situation at United he had better concentrate on their problems. City and Yaya can do without advice from Scholes,” Seluk told The Sun.
“City won the title last season without Scholes’ guidance and Yaya as we all know was one of their best players.”
“But he’s only trying to make himself sound interesting for those who pay him to say his opinion,” he continued.
Scholes has been notoriously critical of a number of players since becoming a pundit, and very few of them seem to appreciate or respect his opinion; despite his illustrious career.
Scholes ‘the player’ was very rarely prominent in the media, and he preferred to keep himself to himself and let his football do the talking. As a pundit though, his opinions are usually blunt and critical, and we can perhaps expect him to upset some more players if he carries on!
