The much maligned front man wanted to stay in Italy with Juventus, where he had just completed a season long loan but Arsenal decided to bring him back to England for an unsuccessful final year.
”I was loaned to Juve. It went well there. I played regularly, and I was fit,’ he told German newspaper Bild.
”We were champions, I wanted to stay. But Arsenal took me back. I barely played.”
”I wasted a year there. That annoys me the most.”
Despite claiming his time in Italy was a success, the Dane failed to score a single goal for Juventus and only made nine appearances for the club.
During his final season at the Emirates, the 26 year old was prolific by his standards, scoring two goals in 12 appearances during the course of the season.
Bentdner finally left Arsenal during the summer after his contract expired. He is now playing for German club Wolfsburg where he will try and rebuild a reputation that was destroyed after a highly unsuccessful spell in England.
