FLennon is one of several Spurs players who could be leaving White Hart Lane today.
Check in to Stoke City vs Leicester City
Stoke City are set to hijack QPR’s bid to sign Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon, the Daily Mail reports.
The Potters had hoped for a quiet deadline day but have had to re-enter the transfer market due to the injury to Peter Odemwingie.
The attacking player was injured during Stoke’s game against Manchester City and could now be out for quite awhile.
Odemwingie has been used as a winger by manager Mark Hughes recently so the former Manchester City manager will now look to replace him with a similarly quick and skilful player.
This is where Lennon comes in. The former England international was left out of Spurs squad for the game against Liverpool on Sunday, signalling that he could no longer be part of Manuel Pochettino’s plans.
With first team football set to be hard to come by at White Hart Lane this season, Lennon may decide to move on.
QPR were already known to be interested in signing Lennon, with Harry Redknapp keen to link up with a player he managed at Tottenham.
However, Lennon is understood to be reluctant to move to Loftus Road, meaning Stoke could move into pole position to sign the former England international.
