Chelsea are reportedly interested in AC Milan attacking midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng according to Italian source CalcioMercato.
This source believes that Boateng could be one of many to leave the San Siro side this summer with the Stamford Bridge side apparently in talks to bring in the €20m (£17m) rated Ghanaian international.
The 26 year old has spent three seasons at AC Milan, proving a moderate success, helping Massimiliano Allegri’s side to a Serie A title in his first term in Italy. Boateng has however suffered a fair deal of racist abuse whilst in Italy, at one point walking off the field of play during a friendly match.
Boateng has scored 15 goals in 98 appearances since his move to the Italian side.
A move to Chelsea may well interest the German born midfielder but one does wonder whether he’d be a first team regular given the number of attacking options available to returning Blues boss Jose Mourinho.
Though Boateng can be used in a number of midfield and wide attacking roles the fact that the likes of Juan Mata, Eden Hazard and Oscar ply their trade in roles the AC Milan fills it seems likely that the former Portsmouth and Tottenham man would initially only be a back-up options.
